休斯顿中华民乐团2012'新年音乐会简介

   休斯顿中华民乐团成立于2008年12月，于2010年1月9日和2011年1月15日成功举办了两届大型新年音乐会，作为中华民乐团的传统，第三届新年音乐会将于2012年1月14日隆重推出。以具有近千年历史的二胡，琵琶，古筝，笛箫等数十件中国乐器，向中美观众介绍历史悠久，优美动听的中国音乐，同时也会用中国乐器演奏西方经典音乐。
    休斯顿中华民乐团是由一批热爱音乐的业余爱好者组成，约有四分之一的专业演奏家加盟，成立以来，演奏水平得到大幅提高，团队越来越壮大，现已达到30余人。三年来，中华民乐团通过近百次大小型演奏会，向德州多个社区、以及路易斯安娜州的听众，演奏了大量的中国和欧洲的经典音乐，受到报纸，电台，电视，和网络的详尽报道和好评。2011年1月15日，中华民乐团获得休斯顿市长帕克的贺信和命名（该日为中华民乐团日）；2011年8月27日，中华民乐团获得哈瑞斯郡政府的贺信和命名（该日为中华民乐团日）。

The Houston Chinese Traditional Music Group Announces
2012 New Year’s Concert

Following the success of previous concerts (presented on January 15, 2011 and January 9, 2010), the HCTMG (Houston Chinese Traditional Music Group) will hold its third annual New Year’s Concert on Saturday, January 14, 2012. The HCTMG was established in 2008 and is dedicated to introducing audiences to the beauty and rich history of traditional Chinese music. The orchestra features dozens of instruments that date back thousands of years, including the erhu, pipa, ruan, and zheng.  With a current membership of 30 volunteers, the orchestra is comprised of both amateur and professional performers and continues to expand.  Since its inception, the group has built a diverse repertoire from both the Chinese and classical Western traditions and has presented hundreds of performances to communities in Texas and Louisiana to critical acclaim.  Mayor Annise Parker has proclaimed January 15, 2011 as HCTMG Day in Houston.  On August 27, 2011, the HCTMG also received an official letter of congratulations from Harris County.
