Hyungun Song currently serves as a Graduate Researcher of Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at Louisiana
State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from where he achieved Master of Science Degree in Control and Signal Processing in 1994 and his Bachelor Degree in ECE in 1992.
His research area had been on Control and Signal Processing 1992 to 1997 in charge of Modeling and Controlling of lightly damped system such as flexible structures. In 1998 to present, the research topic has been expanded to Signal and Image Processing area such as Microscope Image Processing with Phase Shifted techniques(1998-1999) and Image Processing with Wavelet applications(1999-present).
He has been Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant for many years in several different subject such as EE2120(Basic Circuit Analysis), EE3750(Micro Processor-8086 system), EE3951(General Knowledge of EE for Non EE students, Lab), and EE4150(Digital Signal Processing). Especially, when he was a TA for EE2120, his unique teaching style with passion helped the sophomore students to have a confidence and a fundamental knowledge for ECE major.
It is great sharing heart with someone who needs our help.
As a native of South Korea, Hyungun Song served as the vice principle of the Korean
School of Baton Rouge and as the manager of Louisiana Chapter of Korean-American
Scientists and Engineers Association. He loves to play any ball sports, it doesn't matter it is big or small, such as Basket Ball(good fighter-tough forward position), Bowling(170 average), Soccer(more than 20 times of 3 goals or above per game in his life time career), Base Ball, Tennis (Once he was a Group A winner - awarded a big bag of rice, 20 lb.), and Table Tennis.
He loves to travel around USA(he has been traveled most of the country except north west part- Oregon, Washington and north East part- New England states, if you live there, please invite me) and to take photos of beautiful creatures(If he has chance, he is pleased to take you). Cooking is another his talented hobby. One of his best dishes is Jja-Jang Myun (Chinese-Korean dish) or Pork Jok-bal, you may taste his unforgetable cuisine with affordable price.

He has been served as a 'Judicial Scrivener' at Seoul, Korea for more than 20 years and also He is a faithful sevant of God as an elder of 'So-Mang' Presbyterian Church

has been married Jeongye Lee(Joy Lee Song) for 5 wonderful years
and has two precious daughters, Grace and Faith.
My wife,Jeongye Lee, obtained her Ph. D in Education at University of Minnesota 1998. It was not easy to overcome the distance difficulty between Minnesota and Louisiana when we dated, even though the Mississippi river flows right next of both campuses. But the distance obstacle was nothing when the power of love was growing between us. Currently, She is a 1st grade teacher at Progress Elementary in East Baton Rouge Parish
She had been trying and enjoying variety of hobbies. Once, she was a vice persident of AYL(call sign for Ham club in Ewha Woman's University
and a national champion for the abacus calculation contest . There has been lots of changes for her life and being a wife, mother, and teacher became her most favorable pleasure right now(of course she doesn't have choice) and we're blessed for that.
