A Softer Touch

Well I guess I will start with the children, I am a teacher to elementary students, and a mother of three boys two 3 year old twins and 5 year old Mathew.
I guess you might say I have my hands full! Working At the school gives me plenty of flexibility to still be a good mother and raise my children in a healthy learning environment.
Healthy Children
As mothers we need to be concerned about our children constantly. I think that it is important that we be concerned about the little things. Normally when we think of clothes and sheets we only think of one issue when it comes to down to it and that is clean or dirty.
Well I noticed that my children always had to be chewing on something or putting something in their mouth. Well that’s when I first thought about their clothes and bed sheets being a problem. Every time I would turn around I would find them sucking on their shirt sleeve or their bed sheet and this concerned me because even though its clean their are all types of chemical residues left from the detergent that we use to wash with. I think anyone with a sensitive skin condition will agree with that.
I certainly did not want my children ingesting foreign chemicals for no reason. Laundry detergent residue chemical in children's clothing could cause long term chemical exposure and effect their development and health.
Most people would argue that their parents never warned them about a chemical hazard, but detergent companies didn't put so much extra junk in the products before so this is a relativly new issue that I feel everyone is taking to lighthearted
I started talking to other parents at the school about the issue, and found that they would also be interested. One of them suggested that they would talk to their friend from NY who was a dermatologist.
I was a bit confused at first but I asked, "WHY A DERMATOLOGIST?” She told me about different types of skin conditions like MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) and Eczema. She suggested that maybe he knew of something that might rinse completely from clothes.
Shortly after I contacted her friend (The Dermatologist) He was very eager
to help me. He found this to be a strange coincidence, because he just found
out about a laundry product from one of his Eczema clients.
I went to the company website and found their contact portion and wrote to them. I could not believe the response. The individuals that worked there were so nice and responded with a more thorough answer then I could have ever hoped.
So I tried it.
Tried it and liked it.
