| "Happy Mother's Day" ~Sara Montey~ I know we may not always see Eye to eye. We argue, butt heads and occasionally Make each other cry. That is but a whisper Of our relationship, though, Mother. There is so much more to you and me And I could never ask for another. When I was a baby and couldn't sleep You'd rock me 'til I did. And when I'd cry and wake you late into the night You'd sing to me and rock me in my crib. I grew up to be a toddler One who thought she could do it all. But when I needed you, you were there To fix my ouchies when I'd fall. I grew a little older And had stupid fights with my friends I over-dramatized my life to be over But you reassured me it wasn't the end. You always made sure I was happy Sacrificing all that you could. You made sure I had everything for sleepovers And that everything went the way it should. I grew older yet and turned sixteen And I'm afraid we're not as close. I don't run to you when I am hurt Or when I need you the most. Don't let that make you think That I love you any less. Out of all the mothers in the world, You are the very best. We've been through so much together I wouldn't have made it with any other. I want you to know that I love you And I'm proud to call you my mother! Happy Mother's Day! I love you! Love, Sara |
