The Bible teaches that God created you with five purposes in mind:
Worship - you were planned for God's pleasure.
Fellowship - you were formed to be part of God's family.
Discipleship - you were created to become like Christ.
Ministry - you were shaped for God's service.
Mission - you were made to tell others about Christ.
The Bible says, "David served God's purpose in his own generation." I can't think of a better epitaph. That's what I want for my life - that when I die people will say, "He served God's purpose in his generation."

And that's what I want people to say about you, that you served God's purpose in your generation. I hope this website encourages you on your journey.

My church used to be involved (we've finished it) in a program called 40 Days of Purpose. We were doing a study on why we're here. In this study, the entire church is reading the book, "The Purpose Driven Life". I would recommend this book to anyone who's ever asked the question, "what on earth am I here for?"

A Little More About Me

I live in a tiny town in the great state of Texas. It has approximately 1333 people (they count everyone within a 20 mile radius of the cluster of streets they call " town") living inside the city limits. Within this tiny town there are about 5 churches just on Elm St. My church is there too, the First Baptist Church. My whole family went there at one time or another. I live in this town with my typical family of four (soon to be five), Mom, Dad, little sister(s), and me. I have two cats, two dogs, three horses, and (of course) a varying amount of cattle. I love horses.That's why it was such a shock when one died from being infected by West Nile Virus. (You can read about that on one of my links.) I collect model horses and I am a sort of artist. I love to sing especially to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has given me this life. One of my favorite choruses in a song says, "You're all I want and You're all I need and Your grace is sufficient for me and You're all I long for deep down thirst in me." It's true. I need nothing but God. I forget that sometimes. Anyway, I'm just human.
