When I come to the banks of a river
And look at the far distant shore.
I know that my Jesus is with me.
He will see that I safely pass o'er,

The winds and the waves may be raging,
The heavens above me grow dark,
I trust in the Lord; I don't fear them,
For Jesus is there with His ark,

He will take me safe o'er the water,
Through the desert he will make a way
He will send the manna from heaven,
He will level the mountain away,

When I come to the foot of a mountain,
That reaches far up in the sky,
I call upon Him; He removes it
In the twinkling of an eye

No matter how steep is the pathway.
I care not how narrow the way.
With Him I keep pressing onward,
For He levels the mountain away.

While crossing the hot burning desert
With the sand and the sun in my eye,
I call to my Lord, "where's the water?"
I know He will answer my cry.

He leads me on to green valleys
Where clear crystal streams do flow.
I drink of His life giving water,
And never shall thirst any more.

There comes a time of great famine,
Of pestilence fire and the sword.
I cry, "Oh, my Lord, where's the manna
You promised to send in Your word?"

He delivers me out from all evil.
Milk and honey from heaven will come,
I'll feast with my Jesus forever
Over there in heaven, my home.
