  - SEPTYCAL GORGE - |
Answered by Mariano There is more and more seeds of brutal death metal groups come up to surface from land of Italy with good musical concept offers that would not be refused by those who call sickfucks who really understand about this extreme genre.
When all these days bands are ready to brutalize the scene with very fast velocity and couple of chug style, Septycal Gorge throw an interesting structure by writing continues acrobatic riffings, inject with unhuman low growl and high screams, battered by uncountable blast beats like latest Suffocation shits...this probably one of best death metal band ever released by Mutilated Records.
From track to track, Septycal Gorge know how to make their fans keep bashing their head, and also the band have something smart parts dedicate to you who better listening than moshing into the pit, their manipulate the metronome from fast to slow beat like on "Growing Seeds Of Decay" and "Poisoned Human Flesh". From bone-splintering blast with remarkable sound productions, Septycal Gorge has create a deadly mosh pit firestorm. Hey bro...could you tell to our readers about ' Growing Seeds Of Decay ' recording process ? what your equipment uses for the album ? Hi! Marius-vokills here!! "Growing Seeds Of Decay" was born after lots of line up changes, three for the bass and one for the second guitar: it's been not immediately easy integrating the new members, so we couldn't be able to write lots of new songs... By the way, the new SG's members are good musicians and also old songs (from our ep, "Delivering Hidden Mutilation") kick more the asses! We recorded our album in 28 hours: we're all students and workers, so we had just the evenings to spend our time in recording... Fortunately, Tortonia Studios weren't so far from our zone... It was possible using our personal equipment and we used it: our sound's born from our instruments, drumsets and amps. We needed/need to be honest with the listeners, so we decided to give a purpose more similar as possible to our live performances! You guys from Italy,, and the album is on Mutilated Records, have you guys sent the demo to Permeated Recs ? I ask this because Permeated have interesting bands on the roster... Of course: Permeated Records is one of the greatest labels in Europe and an honour for its presence in the Italian Underground scene! We're also friends with Andrea and Ycio from Permeated and also with their band - the brutal slammers Vomit The Soul; we plaid some times with them -. We also love their roster, particullary Enmity and Degrade... but, when we were looking for a label, they were too much busy. By the way, as I said, we're linked with them by friendship and respect, and, of course, we're satisfied by Mutilated Records' job for us! Cover artwork done by Tony Koehl...does he charge lot of money ? lol.... what is the story for the cover... heheheh! Tony is a cool Californian guy and artist! I think his prize for the cover was absolutely ok for our potentialities - we're just the last "rookies" in the whole world brutal death metal scene! He listened to some of our samples, we sent him all the lyrics and tried to explain the meaning of "Growing Seeds Of Decay"... and we're totally satisfied: he's a great artist and made absolutely what we wanted/needed! The cover is formed by some giant cellular pods, spreading strange creatures, attacking the waste land all around... This is the meaning, the messages of lyrics and music: in the world there are lots of seeds ready to waste humanity and it seems impossible stopping them. When I listened to your demo, I knew you guys have a good chance to record one killer full lenght, so how is the response ? Wow! Thank you for the good words! Hope you'd also like the full lenght, ehehe! As I said you, the lots of line up's changes, the development of our tastes and technical faculties gave us the chance to create something more complex and original then our demo: in my opinion vocals, riffing and drumming were really linked to old school US death metal; our present sound wants moving some steps more... ITDM...I'm very curious to all Italian death metal here, give me a good list which bands should I check it ? Well, Italy has lots of really good brutal acts, also lots of crap, but te main difficulty is the promotion: there's no attention for the Underground, so it's really hard trying simply to say: "I exist and I play death metal!!" By the way... Some Italian badass brutal bands: Vomit The Soul (of course!), Hour Of Penance (Rome; a mix between Nile and Suffocation), Stench Of Dismemberment (one of my favourite brutal bands! The Italian answer to old Devourment, raped by Enmity's sickness!) and our great friends Putridity: for the end of the Winter, I hope their first album will be ready... It'll be released by the Italian label Despise The Sun and... well... get ready to hear one of the most extreme death metal acts of the last years, ahah! ' Poisoned Human Flesh ' looks like more personal, I want to know what the story behind this .... Thanks for this question: I (Mariano) am the writer of all the lyrics and I give them a huge importance! "Poisoned Human Flesh" is a portrait of someone attacked by the conseguences of those "growing seeds of decay"... I wrote those lyrics after a year of mental/healty sickness: for all that time, after a big delusion, I decided to exclude me from the others... Just the meetings/concerts with my band, my job, my study were occasions to have contacts with society... I noticed lots of superficial attitudes everywhere, new reasons for my depression/delusion: the top of the shit was after the end of a relationship I considered very important... Well, that was the first time I started to "see" tons of growing seeds of decay... Poisoned Human Flesh describes their effects on me: a scream of help, the will to fight on stopped by the missing of the right fighting tools... Okay, what is your biggest ambition with Septycal Gorge ? Getting rich or dying trying, ahaha! (thanx Fifty Cent) Well, jokes apart... We need to express our souls - or some aspetcs of them - with this kind of music: Septycal Gorge are linked to death metal attitude. We simply want our voices could be heard by more listeners as possible, being honest with them... Now we have an album, so we've more chances to do it... This sick music is our greatest passion, but, of course, the future lays in the hand of God... ;)
