Hey Paul...how are you ? what's up with Gorgasm camp ?

Hey, Ferly,what's goin'on, man? I'm doin' good, so is the band. We're just writing new material and setting up shows around Chicago. We're finally settling in with a new drummer and things are starting to fall in place.

Gorgasm...the coolest band name I've ever know and off course your musical concept too is amazing, no one can refuse that. Do you have a special formula in composing and arrange the songs ?

Not really. We know what we're trying to acheive musically and we sort of just jam out alot. We record alot of our jam sessions. Most of the time, it's Leski who comes in with a few riffs and we'll jam 'em out with drums and shit and just see where it goes. Our best riffs and songs come from us naturally 'cause we feel it, you know ?

How Unique Leader grab you ?

I wasn't in the band yet when Gorgasn signed to UL, that all happened before me. From what I heard, all it really took was a phone call to Erik Lindmark. Gorgasm was already friends with Deeds of Flesh, so it wasn't very difficult to work up a deal. At the time, Gorgasm wasn't signed to anybody since EVTREMITIES had folded after the release of "Bleeding"

It seems like you always havea problem with a drummer. I thought you guys have a permanent drummer since I have "Masticate To Dominate" cd and it was very excited me, but then shit happened...can you tell about this ?

Yeah, our drummer from "Masticate" was frustrated with the situation in Chicago. You see we have a good scene here, but the local death metal crowd isn't as big as the "hardcore" crowd or the "thrash" crowd. We've lost at least 6 really great venues in the last few years and brutal death bands don't have a place to play anymore around here. Bigger bands play the House of Blues, but that's only 'cause they are comin' through on tour. We were playing smaller shows in the suburbs at shitty clubs and not makin' a lot of money for our efforts. We didn't even get to have a guestlist most times. Our friends and girlfriends would have to pay a cover just to see us play some shitty bar! So he got fed up and just booked to Florida, what can I say? But that's all better now that we have Tom Pilasewicz(how do you spell that?)in the band as new war-drummer!

The most interesting part on each Gorgasm album is those killer harmony and melodic riffs, did you listen to classical stuff ?

Yeah, all of us in the band listen to classical and jazz and all kinds of shit we won't admit to in public!

Do you satisfy with the recording result ? and what's the difficult parts when you had tracking during recording time ?

Over all, we are very pleased with the results. There are certain parts I'm not happy with but I know it is just me being overly critical. The whloe thing was very difficult for me. I had never played such fast shit before and here I was required to be perfect for recording's sake! And I'd only started jammin' with these dudes a month before. To put it in perspective: I recorded with Chris D. twice before. The first was with my first band, "The Fallen" from Chicago, IL. The second was with "Sapphist" also from Chicago. "The Fallen" demo took me 40 minutes to record all my parts for 4 songs. "Sapphist" took 2 hours for 10 songs. Gorgasm's "Maticate" took 15 hours! Fuck, I got high as hell once I was done!

I heard that Tom Tangalos now jam with Derek Hoffman...is that true ? and why he left the band ? have a plan to find a replacement ?

Yeah, they got a band called "Worms Inside You". He left for a variety of reasons, you'd have to ask him about all that. We don't want another guitarist right now, it would just slow us down. We are far tighter as a three-piece than we ever were with two guitarists.

"Masticate To Dominate" is absolutely crushing album, the sound is killer especially the drums kits if I compare to "Bleeding Profusely" which was too high in level for snare...maybe the band give a big tolerance to Dave Culross during the mix day, comment ?

ou know I don't know about that, man, I wasn't around for that shit. But, I'll be honest, even though I love "Bleeding" for the music, I've never liked the production, too much snare and so flat, not enough high end.

Do you have a new songs yet ?

Yes, only 5 songs are finished but we have a TON of riffs recorded and more everyday! It's a fuckin' headache! Probably enough material for a fuckin' double album if we were that gay.
