First question, you signed by PERMEATED RECS...how was the deal ? and what shit happened to Elliot's label from Greece ? you had an ink with him before PERMEATED catch you right ?

Hey Ferly. First thanks� for the interview. Yeah we have signed to Permeated records; we got in contact with them after our corporation with Mexican EMF-Records was cancelled. Don�t think that we have had any contact with any label from Greece so don�t know where you got that? First rumour about Degrade? The deal with Permeated is for this newly released mCD and a forthcoming full-length.

Ooopss...sorry for the mistake. so what happened about the dealing with EMF Records ?

Well I don�t want to throw any shit at EMF records here because I don�t know what happened really. We had problems with communication and things were done very slow. The disc should have been out already in September/October you know but when December came we decided to leave for something else.

"Hanged And Disembowelled" is 19:05 of fucking hot slamming groove brutality, so with this concept, are you satisfied with the whole result (musical style, sounds,) ? how is the feedback ?

Yes, we are all very satisfied with the result. We recorded in the same studio as we did with our demo but used another more professional studio for mixing and mastering. We really didn�t imagine that the sound would be so much better. We are very pleased with the final product, sound, art and everything.

The cover art and layout done by Joel Sta, I don't know if he has another talent beside with his band, did you satisfied with his work ? who paid the bills for this ? haha...

Hehe, well we knew that he had done some artworks in the past but I think our one is the coolest stuff he has done�hehe. New prostitute disfigurement re-release is also cool, creds to him. Don�t know who paid, cosa nostra?

I knew you guys have good style since I listened to your first promo demo, so what will happen to next album...will you keep the concept or more progress than now ?

We are writing new songs now and the style is much like the same but of course we are making progress as we all mature at our jobs in the band. The only thing that I can say it that we will not whimp out or make any soft shit. Maybe a little more dual-vocals and a little more technical stuff but still with a catchy side to it. Right now we are playing a new song live called �Drastical Dismemberment�, come and listen!

Is it hard to promote your album around your area ?

Well we don�t promote much in our area, we live in a small town and everyone that needs to know us do. As of general promotion we use internet and our mouths to promote, having contact with other bands and devoted people is of course important.

Yeah, actually internet help the underground scene a lot in promotion beside killed half of death metal fanzine, trades demo and passing the flyers, don't you miss those stuff ?

Well we do that too. I and also have a small Distro which I use to promote both Degrade and other bands I find interesting. Trading discs/demos passing flyers etc. A good way finding new music and also some new friends.

Which one is the most important parts in Death Metal, lyrics or patterns? why ?

Patterns definitely in brutal death metal. But still I think you need some lyrics to get the right feeling in the song. Even if no one hears what you sing� In �regular� DM it can be different; some bands have sing-along lyrics which also can be nice.

I'll ask this permanent question to each band...write down your equipment in "Hanged And Disembowel" ? does the gears are expensive there ?

We don�t have super-expensive gear but we have all invested in quality stuff that�s for sure. It�s necessary if you want to get a good sound. Drums on the recording are Pearl with zildjan and paiste cymbals, bass Peavey, guitars both Jackson and vocals were recorded with a regular Sure beta 58.

Do you remember when you are in love with Death Metal?

I have been listened to different styles of extreme metal for a very long time but if you want to know when I fell in love with death metal particularly I really don�t know...hehe it was some years ago but that love grew stronger when I joined Degrade that�s for sure. That love is strongest when playing live and listening to other bands live, it�s the best thing to do outside the bedroom�

Manne...your vox is killer, can you tell me what is key beside practise and practise everyday of course ?

Thank you very much, appreciating that you like my style. Practice is off course very important but you also have to listen to a lot of music to get inspiration. Don�t know if there is any talent needed to sing brutal actually, think everyone can find their style if they want. Some tips is not to smoke before singing and try to have a beer or two on stage to lubricate the throat nicely.

What bands are you currently listening to ?

The newest great stuff I have heard is Resection from Germany. Their promo rendered a deal with UBR so it must be good right? Also got the new Beheaded cd a couple of weeks ago and it totally kills, think it�s the best they have done. Kataplexia new CD is also great. I had a listen on the new Deeds of Flesh CD last day and I just can�t wait to slip that one into my own cd-player. To much to mention actually�

Yeah, new Kataplexia rules man...have you seen their show ? I mean the vocalist is a drummer, I don't know how he play it in a same time when have a show, they should find a vocalist I think...comment ?

Actually I saw their show at Gothenburg Deathfest �03 (www.gothenburgdeathfest.se) and had not heard about them before and I was like, where is the singer? Then I saw that the guy behind the drums where the one and he sang good and brutal too! Really impressing thing to pull off. I hope they will do more gigs in Sweden as it were one of the best gigs that fest if not the best.
