First question...how long did you prepare for ATB ? and how many albums does Unique Leader deal with Decrepit Birth ?

We started writing material for ATB in 2001, but I had some old riffs from a while back that I used as well. We only signed to the one record deal, but I'm pretty sure we will be releasing our second album with UL. We are busy writing new material right now.

There's few people knew here that you've been in mighty Deprecated, so what happened to "Engulfing Delusion" ? does the recording never happened ?

Yeah, Unfortunately Deprecated is completely defunct. I played guitar in Deprecated for a short time in 1999. I really don't see anything happening with Deprecated in the near future. Especially since Derek, who played bass in Deprecated, is now in Suffocation. The album "Engulfing Delusions" was never recorded but all the songs were written and the music is sitting in a folder in my closet. If anything does happen with Deprecated, you can be sure that I will have the guitar duties!

Tell me about your new members !

We have finally found a permanent drummer. KC Howard, who also plays drums in Odious Mortem, is now our full time drummer! Most of our fans know that we have been looking for a drummer that could play at the level that Tim Yeung set on our album. It has been a real challenge to find the right person. A lot of different people tried out for the position but KC is the only one who had exactly what we were looking for. We have also added second guitarist Mike Turner and bassist Risha Eryavec to the lineup. These guys are old friends of mine, so the chemistry is really smooth between us. I think this will remain a tight unit for many years to come! We all get along very well and share the same goals musically.

Kevin Talley was contributing on your demo and I heard rumours that he join with Chimaira, of course this causing pro and contra, what do you think about this personally ? do you ever think about to do a same thing with Kevin ?

I heard that Kevin joined Chimaira, but I really have no idea what that's all about since that's not really my thing. I say good luck to him though, but I really miss the days of him being in Dying Fetus. I don't think that I could jump around from band to band like that, for me its all about Decrepit Birth and Deprecated if that happens again.

Okay, give me some insight as to the inspiration and origin of the title "And Time Begins" !

Well, Bill came up with that title. It completely sums up the meaning of the music and lyrics on the album. It's about the rebirth of mankind into a new time and existence. I suggest that people read our lyrics in depth to find the true meaning of the title.

Please let the readers know about Decrepit Birth's gear and how its all works ?

Our gear is nothing special. Mike and I both use rack equipment, consisting of preamps, power amps, eq's, compressors, and we all use the BBE sonic maximizer. I am about to buy a new amp, an Ampeg vh140c like Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Misery Index and many others used to use. Our Bassist uses SWR equipment and a Tobias bass. Mike likes his Ibanez guitars, and I proudly play Jackson guitars. I also have a soft spot for BC Rich guitars too. Our Drummer KC, has a double bass Tama kit with three mounted toms and 1 floor tom, he uses Axis pedals and an Alesis DM5 drum module. KC has mostly all Sabian cymbals on his Gibraltar drum rack.

What cds spinning on your player this week ? what Euro and Asian bands that you've been listened ?

Humm... this week I've been listening to:
Malevolent Creation - Retribution
Death - Individual Thought Patterns
Gorguts - The Erosion of Sanity
Sleep Terror - demo 04

That's about it this week, I've been really busy working on new material so I haven't had much time to listen to much music. As for European bands, the list would be waaaaaay tooooooo long cause there are so many awesome Euro bands that I love. As for Asian bands I don't really know many. But I like Jasad! That shit kicks ass! I wish I knew about more Asian death metal. Somebody inform me!!!

For you as the guitarist, what do you find to be the most difficult part of Decrepit Birth, what aspect challenges you the most ?

I think the hardest thing for me musically, is doing vocals and playing guitar at the same time, I'm getting better at it though since I have been doing it a lot more at practice. I am really trying to work on my vocal skills! It's really challenging but very fun!

Who do you admire in death metal world these days ?

I really admire bands like Suffocation and Morbid Angel. I think its cool that these bands still do things their own way, and write such amazing music after all these years.

You have a good forum on SMN News.com, it's good forum to make the band more closer with the fans and of course friends. but also I find interesting topic "George W. Bush is a fool'...so I assume that you are understand and follow the political situation, tell me more about what reason you didn't vote Bush ?

Yeah, I think I can speak for everyone in the band by saying that America has made the wrong decision by electing Bush for a second term. That idiot has made so many huge mistakes in his first term as president. It's really sad, and I hope the world doesn't judge Americans on the merits of George Bush. My list could go on for days about reasons why I disagree with Bush's policies on foreign affairs, homeland security, religion in government, abortion, the economy, and so on, but I'd rather not go into depth because it would take up too much of this interview. Let's just say that I really think that the American population has to take a long look at its self and ask what the hell we are thinking by voting for a man who is keeping us at war with a country that is in no way a major threat to us. I wish the USA would stop trying to be the "world Police" and start worrying about our own problems here at home.

What do you think about Indonesia in connection to the political views...

To be honest, I am not really familiar with the political views of Indonesia. I just hope that Indonesian people don't judge all Americans by the President that we elected, because there are a lot of us in America that have completely different political views from George Bush and his political party.

Okay, back to the bands....when we expect the new crushing album ?

We are already writing new material for the next album. I would really like to start recording by next year sometime, but it's hard to say when we will be ready to record. I guess just keep checking our website.
