| tanouk was captured with sharkane of iceland in october of 89. he was sent to marineland of antibes where he lived with kim, freya, sharkane, and shouka. years later he had started to be rejected by the other adult orcas becouse he had started to show mental problems. on november 19, 95 he was sent to izu-mito sea paridise in japan. on the voyage he had been handled very carelessly. instead of using a good sling , tanouk was lifted with 5 ropes for transport. the ropes left many burns and cuts on his sensitive skin, when they healed they left 5 long scares where they had been. it took a couple of years for them to turn unnoticeable. when tanouk was lived in japan he was renamed yamato. two years later in feb of 97 was joined by asuka of the taiji 5. tanouk's health and mental problems started to get worse then on october 24 of 2000 tanouk died after 11years in captivity, leaving his companion alone. |
