| katina was captured in october of 78 in iceland waters, she was sent to marineland canada then she was sold to S.W.F. her nickname is kandu 6, aslo she is possibly related to kasatka who is the matriarch. she is the first successful mother orca in captivity to actually have a calf to survive to adulthood. she is the mother of kalina, katrena(dead) , taku, unna, and an up ikaika (calves are in order). she weighs 5,500lbs and is the oldest orca at S.W.F. and is usually "shamu" in the show. katina is the matriarch a S.W.F. also. she is smaller then her daughter kalina and is currently caring for her new calf fathered again by tillikum. his name is ikaika . In the shows she preforms mostly with taku,or kalina. |
