Upon Awakening...
Upon awakening from my sleep
I turned my head and reached to the side
And finding no one within my reach
Moisture gathers in my eyes
Why does it hurt so bad when I wake
Awaken in the morning sun?
Why are you the first thing on my mind
Why is this torture being done?
I hate this feeling of deep desire
Desire that aches in my heart
My chest burns with internal fire
Ignited by your kind heart
How can I tell you how I feel
When there is no chance for us to be?
How many more times must I awaken
To find myself a hollow tree?
Where is the love to fill the space
This void within that eats me away
Poisoned by the thought of you
Incurable throughout the days
