Shine
I stand alone like the moon in a starless sky
And shudder at the thought of being alone
But I have found myself awakened
Realizing the path to myself
No other can know me for even I do not
This is a journey I now begin alone
For too long I have run away from myself
To seek salvation in deities divine
Lost in a deep slumber of heaven
No longer the simple child of the past
Awakened from my anesthetic life, I hear my call
Leaving the perfect dream for God's children
Looking not for the light that is deemed so holy
But looking for the light that shines within
