Double Life
Who can tell us how long it's been
Since we closed our eyes
And dreamed sweet dreams?
Though we have seen the morning sun
Dawn over the horizon
We see the darkness of reality
The shriveled bodies fallen like wilted flowers
Incinerated by the fire of man
Ashes to ashes until forgotten
The wind has carried them from our minds
Should my fate be the same as the corpses?
Already I see myself in each of them
For what reason shouldn't I die?
To sleep
To dream my life away
For the rest of my days
But I live for two lives
And it wouldn't be fair to the other
To lie beneath a white cross
While the other suffered alone
