Camaraderie

You are my friend, I'm concrete sure
My greatest discovery yet
The beginning wasn't easy for me
My actions were inept
Uncertainty and indecisiveness
Were feelings difficult to ignore
The weather outside appeared inviting
I just had to open the door
Then came a knocking, knocking
Knocking from the other side
Premonition gave way to intuition
Intuitively, I did abide
Opening the door through the screen
I witnessed before my eyes
A person who invited my to play
An oh so joyous surprise!
Rejoicing, I flung open the screen door
To take part in festivity
A blank canvas splashed with unscheming colors
A feeling genuinely happy
To feel, to be so unrestrained
Fills me with delight
The door had been opened again
The child had taken flight
For the power you've instilled in me
I know not how to repay
I hope to reimburse you with friendship
For the rest of our days
