Experience in Plant Molecular Biology and Plant Tissue Culture

·         Molecular Biology: Practical hands-on experience on all molecular biological techniques such as extraction of DNA and RNA, cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, regular and nested PCR, Northern and Southern blots, DNA sequencing, gene expression studies, cloning, Agrobacterium-mediated transformation.

·         Tissue Culture And Physiology: Tissue culture, in vitro and in vivo studies, micro-propagation, embryogenesis, organogenesis, histogenesis, and morphogenesis, gas and liquid chromatography.

Major Accomplishments: amplification of target sequences by Polymerase Chain Reaction. The techniques involved the isolation of DNA/RNA from various sources like plant tissue and human hair, preparation of samples for amplification by regular-PCR as well as Nested-PCR, analysis of amplified PCR products by agarose gel electrophoresis and dot-blot hybridization.

Major Accomplishments: Practical know-how of forest trees and cultivation.
