O B E S I T Y
Obesity is a very common chronic condition characterized by an excess amount body fat. Little body fat is necessary because it functions as energy store. The normal percentage of body fat (this is how much of your body weight is ideal to be fat) is between 25-30% in women and 18-23% in men. That means that women with over than 30% body fat and men with over than 25% body fat are considered obese.
Q: Why is this important?
A: It is very important because there are health risks associated with obesity.

Every body is concerned about the cosmetic issues. Well, that is important for humans, but the real concern must be your health. Take a look to the following list of diseases that obese people are in higher risk of developing just because of their obesity.
-Hypertension (high blood pressure)
-Osteoarthritis
(degeneration of cartilage and its underlying bone within a joint)
-Dyslipidemia
(for example, high total cholesterol or high levels of triglycerides)
-Type 2 diabetes
-Coronary heart disease
-Stroke
-Gallbladder disease
-Sleep apnea and respiratory problems
-Some cancers
Overweight and obesity result from an energy imbalance. This involves eating too many calories and not getting enough physical activity; Body weight is the result of  genes, metabolism, behavior, environment, culture, and socioeconomic status. These are the greatest areas for prevention and treatment actions
