Turn the page
and your life is ended

Once again
you are reminded

The coldness
rushes over you
takes control of you

Shock pours through you

Your body spasms
In total
Utter
Complete
Despair

Wailing
Screaming
Crying

Tears pour down your face
Sobs wrench their way
Out of your body

Your weak limp arms
Cling to your body
Trying desparately
To provide some solace

All alone
So alone

I am but a shell
That pretends to be whole
Every once in a while
I am reminded

Never am I to be happy
Never
Stop pretending
Stop this charade

Just realize
There's nothing here
But pain
And sorrow
Tears
And anger

Inexplicable tragedies
Will happen
Over and over
In my mind

Bringing me back to the day
You died

The day you left

The day my life ended

I beg you
Just let me go
Let me be free
Let me
Just let me
back to my poetry
