A choir made up of any sixth grader who wishes to sing.. This is the first choir that you will sing in when you begin at Highlander Way Middle School. This year, the Sixth Grade Concert Choir meets 5th and 6th hours. We will begin the year learning unison and beginning two part music.
A choir of 7th grade boys and girls Any 7th grader who wishes to sing may join this choir. This year we will continue to learn 2 part music.
This choir is made up of auditioned 7th graders. The singers in this class have a good understanding of basic music theory. This choir will continue to sing 2 part music and move into more advanced three part SSA.
Eighth grade Concert Choir is open to any eighth grader who wishes to sing. It is made up of both new and veteran singers.This choir will sing more advanced two part and beginning 3 part music.
This auditioned choir is made up of 8th graders. The students in this class have a strong understanding of beginning music theory. This choir will sing more advanced 3 part and 4 part music.
Chamber Singers is an auditioned choir made up of selected 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Students audition at the beginning of the school year by preparing a song, sightreading, and learning part of a new song. This choir meets after school on Mondays from 2:30 until 3:15. Auditions will be held this year during the secondweek in October.
