Captain Canon, Commander Stuart, Lt. Hanson, Dr. McCuen, and Mr. Hanson, Mrell, Canon, and Stuart remain on the bridge as they wait for Captain Canon’s big announcement. An incoming message interrupts the meeting once again. Canon catches Mrell and Dr. McCuen eavesdropping on his conversation in his ready room. Cadet Nim Lister, on a personal mission to ask Captain Canon about the tournament, finds himself on the Nightingale bridge, confronted by the ‘Gale’s brass. Canon attempts to fill him in on the details. Pelgrims feels pleased and relieved at the apparent winding down of the ‘Gale’s refit and the upstart of the long awaited tournament. He practices engineering equations in preparation for the more intellectual Engineering knowledge test. Lt T’al and Ensigns Teel’a and Tim Burton continue to investigate a theft of Federation property that found its way into the hands of Bacharan terrorists. Teel’a follows the prime suspect, CPO Robert Nayesmith, only to lose his apparent contact in the crowded Mall. Simultaneously, all three prepare for the grav ball competition, and Ensign Burton gets ready for the phaser competitions, as well. The Yeager’s CNS counsels Lt Mara Thull as she prepares for her Rite of Ascension. Reminiscing Commander Rudolf Fischer visits DS101 and runs into Captain Alyza, who is busy working at the reconstruction of the damaged Bajoran shrine. Arn Hemux and T’al happen to meet up with them soon after. Before joining the crew of the Yeager as FO, Commander Christopher Gamble of the Roman Class USS AZTEC experiences every commanding officer’s worst nightmare as his decision leads to the ultimate destruction of a fellow Captain’s ship and the death of its crew. Ens. Jason M. Connor, the new CMO for the Yeager, arrives at DS101 by D-warp shuttle. Dr. Xixx, the ship’s aCMO for the last two years, explodes in reaction to his perceived demotion. Mrell gather for drinks in a little semi-formal senior staff meeting. Gabriel Pelgrims and Cadet Nim Lister head over to the bar Club 101 where they run in to T'al, CNO of DS101. Ensign Teel'a works with T'al on an investigation of theft of Federation property that fell into the hands of Bacharan terrorists. CPO Robert Nayesmith becomes the first suspect. Many Nightingale and DS101 crewmembers and civilians prepare for the Tournament, a celebration of many years of peace. Tim Burton starts a Grav Ball tournament team called the `Console Room Snipers' and signs up for the 'Action Phaser range' competition. Others such as Cadet Lister are excited about entering the tournament, especially the phaser competitions. Teel'a and T'al also join in on the Grav Ball games. The USS Yeager, under command of Commander Rudolf Fischer, arrives to begin major overhaul in the shipyards. Their crew will soon join DS101 and the Nightingale. Lt Mao'Syllis leaves the holodeck with a head injury. In sickbay, she finds she has a piece of metal from T'al's sword behind her ear. She decides to lay off the holodecking for a while. Ensign Meredith Tanari is allowed to leave the brig when Lt. Hanson interferes. Her arrest appears to have been a mistake a consequence of Tanari's rocky past. In the USS Nightingale Ready Room, Stuart, Canon, Mrell, and Hanson discuss old times over drinks in anticipation of Captain Canon's big announcement. Lt Mara Thull, OPS officer of the USS Yeager, prepares for the tournament in phaser practice while pondering what to do about an arbiter for her Rite of Ascension. Ens. Jason M. Connor, new Chief Medical Officer for the USS Yeager, arrives on DS101 before exploring his new ship where meets Mara. She informs him to expect animosity from the former acting CMO Xixx. Ens. Lucas Brooks, Deep Space 101’s CEO spent the last few days alone with his work, but emerged to discover the tournament announcement. He and T’al then enjoy a long night of hard drinking and harder conversation. Dr. Arn Hemux planned to speak to a couple of CO’s on the station but lost them in the crowd. He then proceeded to sign up for the tournament and prepared in his own way. On the first day of the tourney, he beat Petty Officer Jakarta Pataki of DS101. Upon his defeat, Jakarta returned to the Console Room where a hung-over T’al struggled to make his way to the first round of grav ball. Lt Mao'Syllis took her after duty hours resting. She was physically exhausted from shuttle maintenance duty and mentally exhausted from wrestling with her feelings. DS101’s Cait/Kzin officer Teel’a went to Club 101 after hours where she wrangled with her history, especially after catching the scent of full-blood Caitian nearby. She approached the Cait in anger and psychologically reverted to the horrors of her past. Commander Christopher Gamble, CO of the USS AZTEC found his ship confronted to the same fate as his friend Captain Rice’s doomed ship in the Terrellian Sector. The USS BEZALINE , allowed to enter a hostile segment of space by Gamble, was destroyed with few crew rescued. The AZTEC itself was saved, but Gamble’s career was now in question as he traveled to DS101 to meet with a JAG officer. Ensign Lan'tzu, the new CSO of the USS Yeager, begins reorganizing and assessing his staff during the ‘downtime’ of the refit and repair. Tim Burton, T’al and Lucas Brooks attempt idle communication before the next grav ball game. T’al is called away in lieu of the disturbance between Teel’a and Mao’Syllis, as well as reports of suspicious activity with. Burton also leaves to tend to engineering matters. Soon, things heat up as Lucas spots Nayesmith with a known Bacharan terrorist and calls an irritated T’al to assist with the pursuit. Cadet Nim Lister, Mara Thull, and the new CSO of the Yeager Ensign Lan’tzu meet up in Club 101 between rounds of the tournament. The new CMO Jason M. Connor of the Yeager meets up with CNS Arn Hemux and discusses Dr. Xixx, ship's gossip, and the possible baggage of the new XO of the Yeager, Lt. Commander Christopher Gamble. They find themselves staked out in the Observation Lounge when Gamble walks in. Lt. Hanson struggles with the Maze part of the phaser range competition while awaiting word on Captain Canon’s announcement. He finishes the course in great time, however. Ensign Felix Farquhar, new CEO of the Yeager, reports for duty. Lt Mao'Syllis of the ‘Gale and the Ensign Teel’a of DS101 meet once again with the confused Teel’a in a fit of rage. Fortunately, despite both officers questionable background that often causes them unwarranted aggression, disillusionment, and horrifying dreams, the two managed to come to an understanding and sit together to a meal in Club 101.
