The other one says: "Don't worry, the danger of sharks is overrated; every year more people are killed by pigs than sharks." The first one replies: "I didn't know pigs could swim." |

| Getting rid of green hair from pool water: You can remove chemicals from hair by rinsing with club soda immediately after swimming. OR Just make a paste with the baking soda by mixing it with your shampoo; let it sit in your hair for a few minutes, rinse well and use a good conditioner. OR Some people swear by rubbing on ketchup before shampooing. |

Swimmers earned 2 points for each meter swum underwater and one point for every second stayed below the surface. It was required to swim a maximum of 60 meters. Frenchman Charles de Venderville won the event swimming 60 meters and staying submerged for 1minute 8.4 seconds. Underwater Swimming was never held at the Olympics again. Plunge for Distance was a short-lived Olympic event. Contestants began with a standing dive into a swimming pool where they remained motionless for 60 seconds or until they ran out of breath. The length of their dive was then measured. The event was introduced at the St Louis Games of 1904 and the gold medal went to William Dickey of the United States with a modest plunge of 19.05 metres. Americans filled all five placings. After that the event plunged deep into obscurity and was never held again. (ASI) Titanic was the first ocean liner to have a swimming pool and a gym. |
