2003 Events

Yule and Clergy Ordination - a brave crew of us met at the Ukranian Club on December 14 during a snowstorm to celebrate the Solstice and usher in the 2003 HVPN Clergy Class. It was a nice relaxing counterpoint to a usually hectic season! Happy Holidays!

Samhain - we circled at Mandi's house, dancing and singing around the fire after meditating on those things that we grieved but had not released. Wonderful food and company after, with the community having the opportunity to congratulate Randy and Melissa on their handfasting.

Mabon - many of us met up at the Hudson Shores park in Watervliet. We had a blessing (led by Donna) and a simple feast and much rejoicing for all that we have been given over the year.

Lughnassah - at Allan and Randy's this year, we forgoed the games (due to weather) and instead hung out and enjoyed each other. We then had ritual (thanks Steve and J.R) followed by the famous feast. A bunch of us stayed over and had a grand breakfast. Thanks to Steve, J.R. and the Committee for a lovely Lughnassah.

Litha - We had a grand old time at Bob's. The rain did not stop us from leaping over the fire or having the Scavenger Hunt. Thanks to Bob for planning and thanks to the Committee!

Beltane - at Peebles Island in Waterford. The theme was fairy. Carolyn and Kevin were crowned King and Queen of the May while Randy acted the Fool (as usual). Want to see pictures? Click HERE. Note that Governor Pataki was there for a ceremony just before ours!

Ostara - March 16, 2003, 2:00pm-6:00pm at the Buukendahl Hall in Scotia. To celebrate Takayama Matsuri - The Coming of Spring, we made a community float in the spirit of the Mohawk River! PICTURES HERE !

HVPN-University - March 15, 2003 - Upton Women's Center @ Russel Sage College, Troy, NY. A day of classes starting at 8:30AM. Our 2003 theme was "The Care and Feeding Of the Modern Pagan". Vendors also offered Pagan related crafts and merchansise. PICTURES HERE!

Imbolc - Friday, January 31, 2003, 7:00pm-10:00pm --- at Prof. Java's, we had a ritual for world peace and an evening of fun and games.
