Genesis 6  (Characters' translation)

1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto   them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days   shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Genesis 6 (Nicolas' version)

1 And it cometh to pass that mankind have begun to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters have been born to them,
2 and sons of God see the daughters of men that they [are] fair, and they take to themselves women of all whom they have chosen.
3 And Jehovah saith, `My Spirit doth not strive in man -- to the age; in their erring they [are] flesh:'and his days have been an hundred and twenty years.
4 The fallen ones were in the earth in those days, and even afterwards when sons of God come in unto  daughters of men, and they have borne to them -- they [are] the heroes, who, from of old, [are] the men of name.

Genesis 6  (Jewish version)

1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them,
2 sons of God saw how beautiful the daughters of men were and took wives from among those that pleased  them.
3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days and also after that, when the sons of God cohabited with the daughters of men, who bore them offspring. They were the heroes of old, the men of renown.

Numbers 13 : 32-33  (Characters' initial translation)

32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Numbers 13 : 31 33  (Nicolas' version)

31 And the men who have gone up with him said, `We are not able to go up against the people, for it [is] stronger than we;'
32 and they bring out an evil account of the land which they have spied unto the sons of Israel, saying, `The land into which we passed over to spy it, is a land eating up its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in its midst [are] men of stature;
33 and there we saw the Nephilim, sons of Anak, of the Nephilim; and we are in our own eyes as grasshoppers; and so we were in their eyes.'

Numbers 13 : 32-34  (Jewish Version)

32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.
33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

The Nephilim, the descendants of Anak, still walk the earth.  They call themselves the Anakim.  They possess a larger spark of the divine essence than do normal humans.  They tend to be much taller than average, always over 6' tall.  They all live exactly 120 years, no more.  They age slowly, are extremely resistant to disease, and never become decrepit; looking a healthy late middle age when they die.  They all have enhanced physical attributes.

The Nephilim once had a great culture in what is now the Holy Land until they were destroyed and scattered by the Israelites under Joshua.  They bore a great hatred for the Jews for many centuries but that hatred has lessened now that the Jews have suffered their own destruction and diaspora.

Despite their inherent advantages, Nephilim face some problems.  They are extremely interested in genealogy since, unless they breed with one of their own kind their offspring are not Nephilim and do not carry on the line.  They are extremely unfertile and can often only have one child.  Their blood is extremely potent, giving vampires double their normal value and sending the vampire into a ecstatic state that is highly addictive to the vampire.  To make matters worse, their blood is also extremely potent in infernalist rituals and any ritual that requires blood is enhanced.  Thus the Nephilim are consistently hunted by both vampires, infernalists, and sorcerors for their blood.  This has turned them into a distrustful and suspicious folk that avoid other supernatural creatures.
