| Libellus Sanguinis Aelia Capitolina Much of this information was compiled by Qasim through his contacts and personal travels in the region. Some information was gained by others in the coterie during conversations in Venice with Cainites who had traveled to the Levant recently. Assamite (Banu Haqim) Hafsa Hafsa has been in the Levant for over a year visiting and training at Alamut and doing the bidding of her elders. She has come to Jerusalem to assist the coterie in their aims, so long as they do not directly contradict the orders of her elders. Brujah (Bayt Mushakis) Azif Azif is an old Cainite of Alexandrian origin. A merchant at heart, he has several trading concerns in the city, and works to undermine Christian influence in the city. He is one of the contenders for the position of Prince in Jerusalem. Boniface Boniface is of Roman stock, and rather old. He has been in Jerusalem for centuries. His concern is primarily the protection of the Christian pilgrims that visit the city. He has under his protection the four main Christian hospitals: Saint Mary Zion, the Provencal Hostel, Saint Mark Hostel, and the Hostel of St. Stephen. He forbids vampires from preying in them without his permission, and he has hunted down and staked more than one Cainite who has ignored his edict. Etheria Etheria is an ancient Hispo-Roman vampire that has lived in Bethlehem for the last four centuries. She has woven a net of influence over the region. Many Cainites owe her favors for dispensing refuge among those fleeing political and military unrest. Many of the older residents of Jerusalem owe her for the protection she afforded them during the 1st Crusade. She is Bonifaces sire. Cappadocian (Qabilat al-Mawt) Abraham Abraham is the senior Cappadocian in the city, having arrived in 445 BCE. He is rarely seen, obsessed as he is with his studies of arcane Jewish apocrypha. He is only heard from second hand through his correspondence and through his childe, Adam. Adam Adam was a promising Rabbinical scholar embraced by Abraham some centuries ago to assist him in his studies. Adam is the voice of his sire, and has been seen more and more around the city as time goes on. He has taken to questioning Cainite newcomers to the city regarding theological lore. He has also been assisting Boniface in his protection of the hospitals. Lasombra (Qabilat al-Khayal) Father Paliuro Rustucci A fanatical Christian, this Genoese Lasombra traveled with the 1st Crusade to Jerusalem. Allied with the Ventrue crusaders, his ambition was to see the Holy City recaptured, position his own loyal patriarch, and preach the strength of the Lord from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher itself. The mass death and disappearance of the Ventrue in the blood madness that swept the city in the aftermath of the conquest allowed him to do even more. Paliuro has been effective Prince of Jerusalem until the last decade. The Muslim reconquest of the city has eroded his influence substantially. He now fights for influence with Azif, Lucius, and Varsik. Pacifico Grillati Paliuros childe and enforcer. Little more is known by the coteries sources. Magdalena Castelucci Borcellino The Venetian envoy to Jerusalem and a childe of Narses. Her standing in, or views on, the Church of Nod are unknown. Nosferatu (Bayt Mutasharid) Kothar The name is all that is known. Ravnos Varsik An Armenian Bashirite Ravnos of formerly Catholic descent, Varsik represents the main interests of his clan in Jerusalem. His powerful blood and the backing of his even more powerful sire in Damascus afford him a great deal of power and influence. Varsik came to Jerusalem in 1101 to take the place of another of Bashirs childer who was killed in the carnage of 1099. He has since maintained an alliance with Father Paliuro, slowly building power and influence. With the Muslim reconquest, Paliuros loosening grip on the city is being used by Varsik to his advantage. Salubri Qawiyya el-Ghaduba It was related to Constantine that this elder warrior Salubri dwells somewhere in the vicinity of Jerusalem. It is understood that she may have information relating to the location of Chorazin. Toreador (Rayeen al-Fen) Elsh Rumored to be the primary architect behind everything from the first Temple of Solomon to the current Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Elsh is half a legend and has outlived many of his creations. There are those in the city that do not approve of his filling it with sites of Holy Power, but there are none who know the safe paths through the city as Elsh does. Tremere None known, but the bastards must be here somewhere, right? Come to think of it, there werent even entries for the Baali and the Setites. Guess there must not be any in Jerusalem. Tzimisce Alexus Simocatta Anastasius has heard this name as referring to a childe of the Keeper that is in Jerusalem for an unknown reason. Ventrue Lucius Trebius Rufus Another of those interminable, and seemingly ubiquitous, relics of Ventrue Rome. This one has been hanging out a little more quietly than some, biding his time for something over the last thousand years. He apparently converted to Christianity somewhere along the way and, with the zeal of the converted, has taken up with the French crusaders. He, along with his brood, are rumored to be involved with the Templars and Hospitallers. He, too, seems to be in the running, along with Azif and Varsik, to replace Father Paliuro as Prince of Jerusalem. |
