Reiquam Family History
Index of all sites relating to this family and related families.
The Reiquam family is Norweigan, and alternate spellings in Norway included Reqvam and Reiakvam.  The family came in 1 large group of 3 generations, including Ole Oleson Sr and his wife, Ole Oleson Jr and his wife and children, as well as several siblings and their families.  One of Ole Oleson Jr's children was Christopher Ole Reiquam, father of Alvin Ole Reiquam, who was my gr-grandfather.  The Reiquam families settled first in Wisconsin for a short period of time, then in Stearns County, MN and farmed there for many years.  Christopher Reiquam's family migrated to Montana in the early 1900s, and his son Alvin Ole Reiquam wound up working at a grain elevator in Choteau, MT.  It was in Choteau where he met and married my gr-grandmother Mabel Ette Thomas, who was a school teacher born to Edward and Phebe Louisa (Price) Thomas in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  Her parents' families had migrated west of the Missippi River from the areas of Pennsylvania and New Jersey around the year 1865.
