Poyer Family History
Index of all sites relating to this family and related families.
The Poyer family was originally from the Jamaica Parish in Long Island, NY.  The family moved to Warren County, NJ where Euphemia Poyer, daughter of Abiathar and Louise (Stackhouse) Poyer, married Thomas Price.  Euphemia and Thomas Price moved to Dickinson County, Iowa before the 1870 census.  Their daughter Phebe Louisa Price met and married Edward Thomas.  Their daughter was Mabel Ette Thomas, my g-grandmother.  When she was a child, they moved to Montana, stayed for a year, then moved back to Dickinson for about a year where her father worked as a shoe salesman before moving back to the Choteau, MT area permanently.  Mabel met her future husband (Alvin Ole Reiquam) in Choteau, where he worked at a grain elevator.  She was a teacher.  When she was young she dreamed of teaching in Alaska, but her parents would not allow it.
