The Morgan family left their home on the border of England and Wales and moved to Montour County, PA sometime around 1840.  Richard Morgan was first married to Mary Jones, who may have died in either England/Wales or in the US.  Their children Richard, Mary Ann, John and George were born in England/Wales.  Sometime before 1850, Mary Jones Morgan died and Richard remarried to Susan Edwards.  Richard and Susan had children Sarah, Jane, Lloyd, and Edward.  The family first shows up in the US on the 1850 census in Montour county, PA.   Daughter Mary Morgan married Webb Thomas in Columbia county, PA between the censuses of 1850 and 1860.  Richard and Susan were living with their children in Columbia county for the 1860 census, as were Webb and Mary.  Susan Edward Morgan died in the 1860s and was buried in a Quaker cemetery in Columbia county, PA.  All of the family moved to Iowa before the census 1870.  Webb and Mary were living in Dickinson county, IA in 1870.  Richard was living with his children in Butler county, IA at that time.  Mary's brother George and his family are listed with Webb and Mary in the 1880 census in Spirit Lake.   George and his wife Lacy had a 1 year old son named Curtis Morgan in the census. They moved to the Round Lake area in the Jackson an Nobles counties of MN, where several other of Mary's siblings ended up.  Their father, Richard Morgan, was buried there.
