Iran prisoners and the invasion threat

Our warmonger PM has responded with predictable outrage to the thought that an Iranian vessel should abduct a party of British marines and sailors engaged in unannounced search and surveillance activity in the Shatt al-Arab.  I can't help wondering what would happen if an Arab warship were to do the same thing in the Thames estuary.

I wonder too if events in the Shatt al-Arab might be connected with warnings from Russia and elsewhere of Anglo-American manoeuvres in the Persian Gulf. Could another Bush-fire be planned? Russian sources speak of a likely strike by America or Israel in early April.
