Dame Eliza Manningham Buller, current MI5 chief, says we in Britain are confronted by a 'grave terror threat'. Her fears are echoed by PM Blair who, not for the first time, speaks of the 'poisonous propaganda' we have to endure from the 'enemy'. And we all recognize the 'enemy' instantly; do we not? The family tradition of right-wing politics espoused by the Manningham Bullers has an obvioius appeal for Blairites who constitute the best Conservativce administration Britain never had. Between them they constantly seek an answer to the question: what do we do about the terror threat? It is no good telling them as they have been told often enough - 'Simple stupid! Just get out of Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan, and stop threatening anyone with the nerve to stand up to you, and the terror threat will evaporate'. How about - 'Stop pretending that Islam is the source of hatred and bigotry in the world and admit that it is the bigotry of Judaism and Christianity, and particularly its American exponents, that has led to the threat of terror. You - Britain, Israel and the US - started it. You can finish it by dropping the lies and the pretence', and admitting the simple facts of recent history. Winblog
