Doesn't it beggar belief! So N.Korea has a nuclear WEAPON and Bush and Blair declare it an affront - a 'belligerent' act, 'irresponsible', 'reprehensible', 'the UN must act'. Why? Because it affects the balance of power, because it threatens the security of the Far East, because it sets a bad example to other would-be nuclear powers. Israel's possession of a vast arsenal of such weapons is, of course, different.
Suppose we and America set an example, and abandon the worst illegitimacy of all , our occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq. Suppose we suggest a trade off - our illegality for theirs.
What an example of statesmanship that would be.
Just a thought.
