Hughenden Athletic Youth Team
Simon Eldridge
First choice ‘keeper since “the cat’s”
retirement. He commands his penalty area well, but doesn’t save many
shots, despite his big head.
Alex Pickles
“Pix” has played for Hughenden for over 10 years now. In that time he has been converted from a pacy left-winger to a solid and consistent defender. However he has failed to score in almost two years now, despite being a regular.
Graham Auld
G is our utility player. He often becomes the target for abuse from the opposition, and sometimes his own team mates.
Peter Fawbert
Has been at Hughenden for many years now, and can play anywhere. Last season he played in every position, and even scored a hat-trick when played up front!
Michael Pitt
Tough tackling, hard-working defensive midfielder who is not afraid to make his voice heard.
Mark Constable
Missed
the whole of last season through injury, but Mark is a hard working midfielder,
and the set piece specialist.
Nick Chambers
Played for the club at U8 level, and has been a consistent right-winger for many seasons now, finally scored for the first time in two seasons against Prestwood.
Jimmy Gibbs
Always the shortest player on the pitch, but he makes
up for this with faultless effort and determination. He enjoys a midfield role,
but doesn’t like being put at the back.
Chris Winn
After 9 seasons at the club, Chris has been top scorer every year, scoring over 150 goals in the process.
Martin James
“Tino” is now known by all referees in the area as he
is the bad boy of the squad. Normally plays on the right side of midfield, but
occasionally needs to be withdrawn for the oppositions safety.
John Emery
Olly has only had one year at the club, but he has already impressed with his skills. He has the superb ability to take on one player too many on a regular basis.
Shaun is the most injury prone player to have played in Hughenden’s black and white stripes, but he is a good goal scorer when he finds his way out of the treatment room.
Steve
Hepburn
A close season signing, Steve is a pacy forward and a good finisher, has had injury problems.
Paul
Sylvester
Sly has not been given much of a chance here yet, but he looks a very useful prospect. Looks comfortable in midfield or forward roles, and enjoys a battle.
Another new
boy, playing regularly at right back. However J has a suspension coming up, as he
went down in history as our first player ever to be sent off, for kicking a
floored Amersham player.
