Remember how much fun it was to paddle on the Delaware?  Or how rewarding it was to pack in the Catskills or Appalacian Trail?

Can you guess which unit is above?  And can you guess which unit still uses the chapel during severe weather?  I'll give you a hint, it has some really cool cliffs that were used some summers to rapel.

Ok, for all of your who have been away for a while....Johnson's lodge is to the left.  It is no longer used as an infirmary.  It is the staff house.  In 1987 it served as both the staff house and the AdB since a computer was in the AdB that staff couldn't have access to.  Above is the health hut.  It stands where the original Staff House was.  We are suppose to call it "Valley View".  Below is the shower house with its roof.  Note most of the wild flowers on the hillsides are gone.  They are mowed on a regular basis.

Photos from Bear, 1980-81

Bear's photos of BK dressed as a fairey and Kizzie eating burnt taffy prove the dedication of the staff to the campers.  We did almost anything so they would have fun and feel good about what they did.
Her photo of the 1981 backpacking trip (Alvin, BK, Bear, and Shell) prove we were greatly rewarded, if not in money, then with great friendships and priceless memories.

Our Staff Ties were secured with friendship knots every summer they were given out.  Always the fabric was different.
They held special gifts from co-workers and staff.  Long after the summer was over, we would look at our ties and be brought back to final farewells and joyous hellos to the girls with whom we shared our summer days.
