The Brandt/Voina 81.4 mm model 1939 medium mortar

 

This medium mortar was produced in Romania after the purchase of a license from the Brandt company. It was a standard drop - fired, muzzle - loaded, mortar, composed of three different parts : the tripod, the baseplate and the barrel itself. The weapon could be disassembled into these three parts for transport. The crew was composed from five men with three men handling the mortar whilst the third and the fourth acted as a ammunition carriers.
