| 12.In profile petiole short and subcylindrical, lacking an anterior
peduncle and with node rudimentary (often absent); ventrolateral margin of head delineated
by a sharp longitudinal carina on each side. The carina starts close to the inner
ventral mandibular base, runs the leangth of the head below the eye and ascends the
occipital surface posteriorly. (one species, M. americana, collected in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan) (2b 5a 6a) |
