Also known as Tachyon UNI Scan. It dates from around 1990. Tachyon used to have a UK address, but may have gone out of business.
Dest was sold to Calera, and then Calera was sold to Caere, who handle only software, and do not provide support for Dest scanners.
The Dest PC Scan 3000 is a monochrome scanner, 300 dpi optical resolution, 9.9 seconds per page. Output resolution 37.5 to 600 dpi. Image selection: bi-level, halftone, or gray scale (up to 256 levels).
Important: Before using the scanner, at the back remove the retainer (transit) screw from the hole near the top left-hand corner of the fan cover. Store it in the hole in the bottom left-hand corner of the fan cover.
Plug in and switch on.
The yellow light on the front of the scanner should flash when a component failure is detected. Look through the glass to check the error code displayed on the 7-segment LED fault indicator at the front. If a "7" is displayed, the lamp needs replacing. If any other number is showing, you are supposed to return the scanner for servicing, but Dest are no longer in business.
