I have a hobby building web sites. I love to create something that is unusal. I have found two different companies in which to build my websites. One is "Free" the other is not.
The free site allows you to build your web site and upload your files from files you have downloaded off of the internet or files you have created yourself. But as the old saying goes, "There's nothing in life free."
The free site allows you a lot of flexibility in creating your web site. But the drawback is something called "POP-UPS" Pop-ups are unexpected blocks of advertisments that appear on your screen without any warning. I am sure if you have read any of my sermons you have already experienced these annoying, aggravating advertisments.
The internet is a lot like television. The entertainment is
free but commercials cost. We are continually sublimely brainwashed without sometimes even noticing that we are being programmed to buy certain products, idea's and concepts in the commercial world of advertising.
The world makes alcohol look cool and Christians like fools.
They show us beautiful bodies instead of beer bellies.
They lie, trick and decieve and we buy, click and recieve.
We become the human "Jack in the Box" while the world is winding us right into their very hands.
We compromise our morals. We get hardened by the world and knowing that we shouldn't we support the very places that sell pornography and alcohol. We eat at resturants that sell wine to our neighbor at the next table.
Society through repetition continually places in our minds through different aspects of the media what is good and what is bad. They put in our minds through their pop-ups and commericials what is right and what is wrong. They tell us who are the goats and who are the heros.
Watch what you allow in your mind. Pop-ups are alot like the devil. Everything is going just fine. All of a sudden out of nowhere Satan appears. Maybe with a evil thought or perhaps one your greatest temptations. He knows where you live. He knows how to attack you. He knows your weakness. He is just waiting and watching for his chance to Pop-up in your life.
But guess what? There is a pop-up blocker! It's already been paid for. It is just waiting to be installed. It stays online 24 hours a day. No longer will you be bombarded with those hundreds of pop-ups that slow you down.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit that lives in us is greater than the devil that lives in the world. So the next time ole slewfoot trys to sneak into your life make sure that you have your pop-up blocker activated.
Sorry for all the pop-ups. I have no control to stop them. I don't have the knowledge to control the content in which you see. But, I do have the power not to click on them and so can you. Guard your heart and guard your mind. Don't shop with the devil. He will cheat you and laugh in your face when you lose everything you have.
