| Top Ten "SINS" | |||||
| It's a good thing that King David doesn't live today. If He did some Churches would probably want nothing to do with him. King David was the greatest king of Israel. He is the ancester to Jesus Christ. He was a man of courage. David was a giant killer. He's the author of at least 73 psalms. He's the father of one of the wisest men to ever live. His son Soloman wrote the book of proverbs. He's even listed in the "Hall of Faith." in Hebrews Chapter eleven. An impressive resume for someone who may not be able to walk into your local church without the tongues a flying. I can hear the gossip now. "Look, there's that guy that married Bathsheba." or Uriahs family "I didn't know our church allowed murderers here." In today's society sins are rated. The top ten could look something like this: 1. Child Molesting 2. Rape 3. Murder 4. Homosexuality 5. Adultery 6. Kidnapping 7. Domestic Abuse 8. Stealing 9. Lust /Covet 10.Lying It's so funny how people judge and how God judges. I guess that's why Jesus said in Matthew 7: 1-3 (paraphrased from the living bible) "Don't criticize, and then you won't be criticized. For others will treat you as you treat them. And why worry about a speck in the eye of a brother when you have a board in your own." Society rates sins one way and God rates His way. To God the top ten are the same from one to ten. It's called "SINS" Someone might ask, "Preacher don't you think adultery is worse than a little white lie." Well, let's see what God say's about little white lies. First of all, God never called them, "little white lies." That's societies name for them. In the book of Proverbs 6:17 Soloman describes that lying is one of six things that the Lord hates along with a proud look, hands that shed innocent blood (abortions could be included under this heading) a heart that is wicked, people who look for trouble, and again a church member who spreads gossip and lies among the brethern. Jesus said to the men who wanted to stone the women who was caught in the very act of adultery. "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." John 8:3-11 The next time you start to judge a man because you know he has committed adultery. Look into your own closet and see if there is any pornography hidden in secret places. Jesus says that lust is the same as the act of adultery. "But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a women to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:28 Be careful that you don't judge. Because your closet may look a lot worse than the one you are judging. If you are lost or backslidden. Don't let the stones from another bring you down. Remember Jesus loves you. But he has a problem with the sin in your life. Open up the hidden places in your heart. Repent of your sins and you too just like the women who had committed adultery will hear Jesus say, "Neither do I condemn thee." John 8:11 |
