| Today is one of the biggest days in Sports. It's called Super Bowl Sunday. The New England Patriots will take on the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII. Super Bowl Sunday makes me think a lot about my childhood. I can remember growing up as a child watching football every Sunday. My favorite football team was the Cincinnati Bengals. For some reason when Mom would tell me to get ready for Church I would get sick and want to stay home. Mom had the cure for my weekly virus. She gave me a regular dose of Church mixed with the Love of God to be taken once per week for 18 years. I can still remember being in Church looking at my watch. Timing the first preacher thinking... Well, if the next preacher preaches for 20 minutes or less I will get to see the kick-off. I was a football fanatic. I went to a Church that started at 11 am. and after several songs, prayers and usally two back to back preachers it seemed like enough to last for months. I appreciate my Mom and Dad now for making me go to Church. I didn't while growing up. I kind of resented the fact that I had to go. The Bengals were on and I didn't want to miss one minute of the game. Talk about dedication. Now, I am 40 years old and I still love Super Sunday. But it's not Super Sunday once a year. This Super Sunday is every Sunday. It's Sunday 24/7/365. The first Super Sunday was when Jesus Christ arose and defeated death, hell and the grave. He is the Christians Super Sunday Most Valuable Savior Super Sunday for me happened on February 10, 1991. I walked up an isle at Church and got on my knees and asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins. I now see why my Mom and Dad was so big on Church. I now understand why they wanted me to go. I now have my eyes focused on a goal. One day, I will get to meet, face to face my Sunday Hero... ...Jesus Christ ! You too can join the Winning Team by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. You'll get a brand new uniform as white as snow. You'll even have a multitude of fans cheering for you. Jesus said in the Book of Luke Chapter 15 in verse 10, "Likewise, I say unto you there is joy in the presence of the Angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." Do it today Friend ! You have the ball in your hands. And the lead. Don't run another play. You could fumble this great opportunity. All you have to do is take a knee. Kneel down and reach Jesus your sins. Then when the game of life is over. You Win! Final Score You............Heaven The Devil....Hell |
