DELETE and SAVE
One of the best keys on a computor keyboard when building a web site is "Delete."  But it is also  one of the worst.  Every now and then I will spend several minutes typing something.  I will forget what I am doing and delete my entire work or text that I was working on.

When re-doing it. Sometimes that page will look entirely different than the one that I had first started.  The other button that is important and even bettter than delete is "Save"  I have learned that after I complete a paragrah of typing to save immediatly.

It's kind of like our walk with the Lord.  We go throughout our life making mistake after mistake. But then we can go to Jesus and ask him for forgiveness.

In the book of Pslams Chapter 51.  (Click
Here to Hear or Read) David asks for God to have mercy on him.  To create a new heart within him. To wash him and make him whiter than snow.

King David was a man who God loved.  But the King sometimes got sidetracked and forgot what he was doing.  A shepherd, poet, giant-killer and ancester to the future King of Kings had a weakness just like so many men of the bible have had.  It's called SIN !

You see the Bible is full of stories of men that got drunk, lied, killed, committed adultery, cursed  and persecuted Christians  and yet became great men and hero's of the Bible.  Can you imagine if Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Peter and Paul were not shown mercy for their sins.  How much different the Bible may have been.

Pslams 51 is a great text to show us how we can get back.  It shows us first, we must seek God.  Ask for mercy.  Ask for Jesus to delete our sins and give us a clean, new white page to start over with.

Then start painting your new page with joy, love, peace and the hope of Jesus Christ's return.  As my beautiful mother always taught me. It's not about how many times you get knocked down in life.  It's about how many times you get back up shake off the dust and start over.

If this page was to get deleted right now and I just decided to quit.  This sermon would never be preached.  (hold on I've got to click "Save"
Ok, I'm back)  That is why it's so important to ask Jesus to save us and delete our sins.  Because we all have a story to tell.

What is your story ?   Will it have a happy ending like King David's ? or Will you forget to hit save and lose everything you have.

Get back up friend.  I beg you before you wait to late.  Ask Jesus for mercy and pray as the song plays "Precious Lord Take My Hand"
