Last Will and Testament
I worked for an attorney in the eastern part of Kentucky.   I watched men and women come in daily to file bankruptcies, divorces and write out their wills.  I watched families set on two different sides of the room because their parents had died and they were in a dispute over who got what. Some families could not even come in the office at the same time because of threats that were made to each other.  I began to think.  How sad this is. Is this how God intended for it to be ?  No. The bible says where your treasure is there will your heart be also.
Where is your Treasure ?
Is it in the things of  this world that is here today and tomorrow will be cast into an oven ? Where will all your wealth be 100 years from now?  Where will you even be 100 years from now?    Naked you came into this world and naked you will return.
You can't take it with you !
Why is it that you never see a U-Haul following a funeral ?  The reason,  you can't take anything with you.  The bible says to lay up for yourselves  treasures in heaven.  What will be more  important to you ?  What happens after you breathe your last breath ?
Priorities Out of Order
I heard at a funeral of a very poor man there were two brothers that were fussing before the service began in front of their fathers coffin.  A visiter had arrived early to pay his respects when he noticed that the two were in a heated discussion.  He waited in the lobby so that he would not interrupt them.  The preacher walked by. The visitor asked What is going on in there ?  The preacher said, "That poor ole man had only twenty bucks to his name and they are arguing over who's it is."  Is this how God intended for it to be ?
Is all the rich going to hell ?
In the gospel according to Luke.  On three different occasions it is told of how rich men had to make decisions regarding their riches.  Jesus even said that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven.  But he also went on to say that what is impossible with men is possible with God.

Rich Man #1 is found in Luke 12:16-21.  A good way to describe this richman was "Foolish"  Click

Rich Man #2 is found in Luke 18:18-27  This rich man could be described as "Selfish" Click

Rich Man #3 is found in Luke 19:1-10  This rich man could be described as "Wise"  Click

You will never hear....
As a former policeman I led several funerals.  I would go in and listen to the preacher speak over the deceased.  Never, Not even once did I hear the preacher say, "Tom's only wish,  That he wished he would have spent more time at the office."  How much time in the week do you spend with God ?  Jesus says, "If you deny me before men.  I will deny you before my Father in heaven.
There is Peace in the Valley
If you want to leave your children a great treasure when you die.  Leave them knowing that your #1 priority in life was your relationship with Jesus Christ and your with Him.
