1. A Short History of Nearly Everything  by Bill Bryson
A wonderful book that looks at every?thing from the Big Bang to modern ideas being debated in science.  This is a terrific short history of some of the most important moments in discovery? and how we understand the world.
2. Summer of the God's: The Scopes Trial  by Edward J Larson
This book won the Pulitzer Prize in history?.  A fresh look at the infamous scopes monkey trial where John Scopes was taken to court for teaching evolution.  Larson looks at new documents regarding the epic conflict between William Jennings Bryant and Clarence Darrow.
3. Finding Darwin's God  by Kenneth Miller
Dr. Miller is a biology teacher at Brown University and a practicing Christian.  He does a terrific job explaining that science and religious belief do not have to conflict.  Dr. Miller takes on the two extremes and argues that most of us fall somewhere in the middle.
