Audio: Lauryn Hill: "Sweetest Thing", bonus track from the "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" The following text is from the end clips of "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" cd. A black male teacher in New York discusses with his students about L-O-V-E. Teacher: Aeh, do you think you're too young to really love somebody? Class: NO! No, no, no. Teacher: Let's say, I'm an adult, I say, "Wait, you're too young to be in love, this is silly, that you're only infatuated with whoever has nice jeans and wears fancy Adidas." I mean... Girl 1: It's a difference from loving somebody and being in love with somebody. Teacher: Well you tell me what's the difference. Boy 1: okay, so you can love anybody, but when you're in love with somebody you lookin it like this: you're taking that person for what he or she is, no matter what he or she looks like, or no matter what he or she do. Group of girls: Aight! [laughters] Boy 2: God, you're crazy Boy 1: You gotta dig them Boy 3: When you fall in love you can fall out of love Class: ....true... Boy 4: You might stop being in love with them, but you've would not stop loving that person Girl 2: But maybe sometimes they've never been loved before. Or they never been in love before. Or they don't know what the feeling is to be loved. Teachers: Alright, alright.. Boy 5: Really, like love right now is confusing. Like, people are thinking that they love somebody, but you know, they really don't love that somebody. Like, I thought I was in love with a girl, but I really wasn't right now. I don't even care about her no more. Class:[laughter] Teacher: Ha ha, okay, okay. Teacher [addresses to boy 6]: What do you think about love? Boy6: ...Love... Class: [burst of laughter] Teacher: Yo! Yo [laughs] he's about to give us a visitation, the way he said that. Go ahead, break it down, break it down. Boy6: ..Well, love is just a feeling. Class: [laughter] Teacher: Keep going. Boy6:...just when you like somebody, you just wanna fall in love with them. Teacher: Okay Boy6: You gotta tell the person like you do, the way you feel towards them. Group of girls: [laughter]okay okay
