Meeting Minutes November 24^th, 2002 81 Rawson Rd, Quincy, MA 02170 
 

NEXT MEETING: DECEMBER 7^TH, 2002 6-7 PM AT 81 RAWSON RD. 

 

1. OLD business

A. Tax ID – All the paperwork is done. However, there was an issue with the number of the pack therefore there will be a delay for approximately one week while Tr. Hung try to get our old number 322 again. Paperwork has to be revised and then sent to IRS.Deadline: 02/28/03. 
 

B. Co*` – Tr. Hung came up with several designs for the flag for the troop; however, was rejected. J

We decided to have a contest for the best design for the flag and the badge logo will win a prize. Tr. Tri’ volunteered a FREE downhill ticket for the winner. 
 

Criteria for flag’s design:

1.             Must have La’ Tam Diep (white)(for girls scout), hoa bi’ch ho*.p (red) (for boyscout)
2.             Must have the words “Huong Dao Viet Nam Lien Doan Bach Dang Boston MA
3.             Designs must have meaning. For example, the green background is for Thie^’u Ddoa`n
4.             Anything else such as the background color or other inclusions is up to your creativity. Deadline: Next Meeting Dec 7^th, 2002

C. Cho^? Sinh hoa.t: Tr. Vi has two potential spaces. We chose the Murphy to be ideal because:  1) The Vietnamese classes are held there, we can recruit more scouts.

 2.     Chu’ Hai? (the person in charge there) said that we don’t have to ask Boston Public School for permission to use the facilities for that same Saturday.

Tr. Vi will speak to them on Monday to define the terms and conditions and get a contract. Deadline ASAP 

A. Pho`ng Chu*’a Do^`: Tr. Tri’ will look into the place. Possibly Chi. Vi & Anh Hung’s house. Deadline 12/30/02

         C. Tie^`n Quy~ : Current Balance : $792 ( $812 -$20), $20 used to register the pack.

D. NYC trip – Friday-Sunday Thanksgiving weekend. Anh Tri volunteer to HOST and be our tour guide. Binh will have to plan the details of the trip. 

          E.  Do^`ng Phu.c : We are using the official boy scout’s uniform: Yellow shirt, Green trousers, American flag on the right, Huong Dao Viet Nam on left pocket. Please go to this link for a picture, sizing and pricing.

EVERYONE MUST WEAR UNIFORM AT THE NEXT MEETING (12/7/02) 

   3.     EXPLAINATION regarding teen or cub scout. We will concentrate on cub scout for now. If older kids want to join then we will let them.

   4.     NEW BUSINESS

         A. Inventory Control : Tri Pham will prepare a list of what we have, the condition, and who has it right now. Deadline 12/07/02 

         B. Find out about cub scouting, rules, games, the way it works – Quyen, Long, Vinh  

   6.    Ba`n cho Cho*. Te^’- YES. We decided to have a table for fundraising in the New Year festival. Tr. Hung will bring a proposal for 12/07/02.

          Gather around event – Anh Hung will make another proposal by 12/07/02.

         Volunteer to come up with planning for the 2003’s activities every month. Quyen will be in charge and will bring it to the meeting for further comments. Deadline last meeting of the year.
