| There have been some changes. White Wolf decided to reset everything in the World of Darkness, including putting out a new line of books that bear no connection to the old system. They must have been paying too much attention to WotC. As a result, the established Camarilla Fan Club chronicle has ended. Since it's no longer active, this website will no longer support information about it. The chronicle is a troupe game run under Mind's Eye Theater rules with a few modifications. In MET Huntsville, the Giovanni have taken control and run the city (just as it should be). The city is also a metropolis, but has been tailored to fit the Family vision of a city. The secondary chronicle is a troupe game run under Mind's Eye Theater rules (with a few modifications In "real-world" Huntsville, the city has about 35,000 residents (65000 in Walker County as a whole). The "World of Darkness" Huntsville is a metropolis with a population exceeding 4 million people (about the same size as Houston), completely dominates Walker County, and spills into the surrounding counties. In both cities, there are two main industries ; the state prisons and the university. Huntsville is a center of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and hosts eight state prisons. Over half the local population works for the state in some way, usually in relation to the prison system. It is a popular place to work when "in between" jobs, but a small number of people have made TDCJ into a career. Huntsville also contains Sam Houston State University. It is one of the largest universities in Texas (13000 students in 2003, increasing the city population by one third), and has several leading programs. The Criminal Justice Department is top in the state and #3 in the nation. The Psychology Department is #2 in the nation (only because #1 is a federal program using federal prisons and has a federal-sized budget). However, the greatest pull for people coming to SHSU is the low cost, easy admissions tests, and prominent location. More than four out of five students are commuters and half are rural residents. There is a large "continuing education" student body as well. In the MET versions of the city, the prison system is about the same size though there have been some minor changes to reflect the "special" needs of "special" residents. The MET university is far larger (25000+) and has radically expanded most of it's programs. Also added has been Gibb's Academy, a premiere joint-service military academy which supports National Guard and State Guard armories, ROTC programs, and a US Army Stryker Brigade garrison. |
