A Tribute in Honor of:
North Carolina Bill 1077  Hunter's Bill
In some States, legislation is in effect to give families of children born still, Birth Certificate Resulting in Stillbirth.  In North Carolina Hunter inspired a very special and compassionate friend, to have a bill written and sponsored, Bill 1077. This person wished to have Hunter, and thousands of other children, recognized as children in the State of North Carolina and the great United States of America.  Hunter Davis Leggett was born still on May 1st, 2004 due to maternal pre-eclampsia at 34 weeks and 4 days. The devistating consequences of this tragedy not only include not every being able to meet my little boy on this earth, but also that he is not recognized as even being a life, a sole, at all in North Carolina. If we can get Bill 1077 to be heard in the Senate, I am certain we will meet compassion and understanding for our cause. These children will be able to be found in our family's history, long after their families have left this earth.  They will have a name on record as part of our families.
the littlest angel
In North Carolina, families of children born still, are given no birth or death certificate.  The state does not recognize the mothers as even given birth.  There is no record of these little angels, except in the hearts of those whom anticipated, love, and now greive for their sons and daughters, grandsons and grand-daughters.  I grieve not only for my sons life, but now I grieve for his record, acknowlegement, and life in our family history and in the history of the state of North Carolina, Hunter's father's home state.  I am trying to change that and I will not stop, until I can help the great Senators of North Carolina, that Hunter deserves to be recognized as a part of our family forever..
