TETSURO was raised by his mother for as long as he can remember. She told him that one day, they'll go to the capital of the Machine Empire and get machine bodies. This would prevent them from feeling the cold. TETSURO promised to find a way to get tickets to aboard the GALAXY EXPRESS so he and his mom could get their wish. He also idolized the space pirates CAPTAIN HARLOCK and EMERALDAS, and he hoped to be just like them one day.
Tragically, TETSURO'S MOTHER was gunned down by COUNT MECHA. TETSURO swore he would have revenge. He grew up in the poverty stricken areas of MEGALOPLIS CITY. He one day stole a ticket for the GALAXY EXPRESS 999 from two people. He would have been caught had it not been for last minute help from a woman named MAETEL. She heard about TETSURO'S story and agreed to help him track down COUNT MECHA. Together they boarded 999 and set off. On their first stop, TITAN,TETSURO met the mother of TOCHIRO. She gave him of the only COSMO DRAGOONS in existence. He also befriended the bandit, BOSS ANTARES. ANTARES told TETSURO to shoot first and not to show any mercy. TETSURO went on to Pluto where he had a bizzare and unnerving encounter with SHADOW.
TETSURO met up with EMERALDAS who told him to go to MOUNT GUN FRONTIER on the planet HEAVY MELDAR. When he got there, he went to the location and found TOCHIRO near death. He helpedTOCHIRO fufill his destiny by merging with the ARCADIA. He was then ambushed by servants of COUNT MECHA. He went into town to confront them and was almost killed had not CAPTAIN HARLOCK appeared and taken care of the villians. He tried to convince TETSURO not to continue his quest for vengance. TETSURO went anyway and infiltrated the TIME CASTLE, COUNT MECHA'S home. He found not only the count, but also his mother's body. He was surprised by COUNT MECHA, but was saved by the appearance of BOSS ANTARES. ANTARES sacrificed his life in order to help TETSURO kill COUNT MECHA. TETSURO succeeded in kiling him, but as the TIME CASTLE was turning to dust, the count's lover, RYUZU, revealed that the count's evil nature came out after he got his machine body. This made TETSURO decide to abandon his dream of recieving a machine body. Instead he swore to take down the Machine Empire.
When TETSURO arrived at PLANET MAETEL, he was surprised to learn MAETEL was the daughter of QUEEN PROMETHIUM, the ruler of the Machine Empire. He was taken away to made part of the planet's workings. MAETEL appeared and saved him. She revealed she had sacrificed children to her mother so they would be put in key parts of the planet's workings. She then reaveled her father, DR BAN, was alive and his spirit was part of the locket she wore. After a tense standoff, DR BAN asked TERTSURO to throw the locket into the core. TETSURO did and started a chain reaction that destroyed the planet. He was almost killed by PROMETHIUM but was saved by the sacrifice made by CRYSTAL CLARIE. He then returned to Earth.
He spent the next two years has a freedom fighter battling the leftover remnants of the Machine Empire. He one day recieved a mysterious message from MAETEL. He boarded 999 and went looking for her. On the way, he met a man named MEOWDAR who told him rumors about MAETEL inheriting her mother's throne. TETSURO found MAETEL, but she was insisting he disembark as soon as possible. He ran into FAUST, the new henchman for QUEEN PROMETHIUM. FAUST confronted him many times but never let it come to blows. TETSURO eventually arrived at FINAL STATION ANDROMEDA and had his second meeting with QUEEN PROMETHIUM. This time all hell broke loose and the planet ended up crumbling into the waiting arms of the anomoly known as SIREN THE WITCH. TETSURO finally had his battle with FAUST. He shot the dark knight fatally in the chest. As he fell into the void, FAUST revealed he was TETSURO'S father.
TETSURO returned to Earth. He remains there for now, but one day he will ride the rails again.
