YURI STAVROGAN joined the Exofleet at the same time as JT MARSH. The two serve together frequently and many times YURI was MARSH'S wingman. While MARSH rose through the ranks, YURI stayed at his level due to frequent acts of insubordination.
YURI was assigned to Able Squad to bloster their ranks during the attack on Mercury. YURI made friends with KAZ TAKAGI and the two would do reckless fly-bys throughout CHAOS. During the fighting on Mercury, YURI and KAZ made several attempts at chasing down Neo ace THRAX. During the last battle, YURI was shot down and broke his arm. For disobeying orders, YURI was assigned to engineering.
A shortage of manpower put YURI back on active duty. He took part in a mission to blow up an Artic Neo base. The mission was a disaster with YURI being the only one to make it back alive. After a short recovery, he led Able Squad back to the site. Again ther mission went bad as JT MARSH was captured and KAZ TAKAGI nearly died from exposure. YURI took command and dispite protests decided to continue the job of destroying the base, even though MARSH was captive inside. Fortunately, ALEC DELEON used his E-FRAME to locate and rescue MARSH. The mission was a success and YURI went on to other assignments.
In what proved to be his last mission, YURI went with Able Squad and PROFFESOR ALEGERNON to investigate a secret Neo weapons facility. he and KAZ went through the sewers and were attacked by Neo-raptors. One of them used its spit weapon to disable YURI'S E-FRAME. Water began to pour into the cockpit and YURI tried desperately to free himself. KAZ stopped the Neo-raptors and went to help, but it was too late. YURI drowned in his cockpit. KAZ buried him outside the facility in an unmarked grave.
