SARA BASE was a military station on Mars that was attacked and nearly demolished with loss of all hands. Among those that were killed was CARL RIBER, who was the fiance of LISA HAYES. LISA visited the base years later when the SDF-1 landed to take on supplies. The base ended up being a Zentradi trap set by KHYRON. LISA was ordered to blow up the base in order to help the ship escape. She activated the explosives, but on her way out found CARL'S old room. She refused to leave and RICK HUNTER was ordered to pull her out. He got her away just seconds before the base exploded.
(Note: Some sources erronously state that Zentradi scouts destroyed the base. No true source confirms this theory so it is not considered valid.)
