The RENEGADES are a special force of soldiers gathered together by SERGEANT SLAUGHTER. They're roster is composed of: TAURUS, who's an ex-Cobra Viper, RED DOG, an overaggressive ex-football player, and TAURUS, a circus performer that SGT. SLAUGHTER says "has a few loose bats in his belfry." The RENEGADES train at a place called the SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
When LT. FALCON was sent to train with SGT. SLAUGHTER, the RENEGADES did what they could to help, although they're teaching style can be described as very intense and heavy on the principle of "hurt the new guy".
The RENEGADES and FALCON helped SGT. SLAUGHTER raid the TERROR DROME. At first they were angry that they could not bring weapons, but when MERCER led them to the armory, they all loaded up on as many guns as possible. When they were ordered to turn back to save FALCON, RED DOG protested but SGT. SLAUGHTER stated that as a team they "all go home or nobody goes home."
The RENEGADES provided last minute aid to the rest of the Joe team in trying to stop Cobra from stealing the B.E.T. Later during the raid on COBRA-LA, the RENEGADES, along with over half the Joe team, were trapped by the CARNO TREE. They were freed by the remaining Joes and joined in on the battle. Several RENEGADES were seen beating up on various Cobras.
